NYLON insulated terminals are manufactured using a three-part construction: an inner lug, a copper sleeve, and an outer Nylon coating. The copper sleeve acts as a "funnel" to direct the wire properly into the lug, one which crimps the sleeve.
This connection is regarded as a better design as it gives strain relief at the connection and subsequently less fatigue.
Both NYLON and PVC connections are rated at 90°C to 105°C and can be used in auto applications (12V) or AC(110V). The actual rating of each is to 600V. Both NYLON and PVC offer excellent protection from surrounding metal or wire contact to prevent "shorting out" situations.
